Catalogue Gambier 1893, Vve Hasslauer de Champeaux & Quentin (Fa)
This recently discovered catalogue contains no fewer than 143 pages of illustrated pipes. It presents a very extensive range, yet already one year later, in 1894, a revised catalogue was issued. A major difference is that the assortment of pipes shown in the 1893 catalogue was significantly revised in 1894. A conscious decision was made to reduce the large range of 1893 in order to create space for innovations such as pipes with caoutchouc stems, pompadours, and pipes magnésiennes. Below is a selection of models that no longer appear in catalogues after 1893.
